My new book Smart Career Moves for Smart Women

Updated: Jan 22, 2023

I am very excited to announce the release of my new book Smart Career Moves for Smart Women. How to Succeed in Career Transitions scheduled for 28 February. Pre-order at Routledge from 7 Feb!

A career book especially for women

Despite the great amount of positive progress in general, in the 3rd decade of the 21st century women often experience barriers to career progression either in themselves or in the world of work that make specific tips on how to push aside those barriers aside really helpful.

Based on thousands of hours of coaching professional women clients, I know the common challenges that women face in their careers and the hopes and aspirations that drive them forward. The book combines their stories with practical ways of overcoming the difficulties and making the wishes come true. None of this is a quick fix; it can’t be, because we have to start with our true selves and find a way to allow that to come to the fore, so that we can flourish.

Focus on career transitions

These are the sticking points where women struggle: first in deciding where they want to go next and secondly how to go about getting there. A career transition can seem like a mountain to climb. With some good equipment and some support, it’s a lot easier.

Start with what you value

Often, the everyday overwhelms us, and we lose sight of who we are. Here, I invite you to step off the treadmill and take time to reflect on who you really are and what you want to do at work. Allow your imagination and your desires to take the lead

Practical steps – just like a coaching programme

The book is filled with practical activities and reflection exercises just like the ones I work through with my coaching clients, so you can follow the steps needed to make the career transition you want. All the exercises are also presented together in a toolkit at the end of the book for easy reference.

Real-life stories

You, the reader, will meet many women in the pages of this book. They come from various professions and circumstances, and each of them has her own story to tell of how she faced the challenges of a career decision at a crossroads in her life and how she fared in her career transition. You will recognise their situations, their hopes and fears, and you will feel with them as they find their identity and bring their hopes to fruition.

If you are interested in reading the book to review in your blog or other media publishing outlet, please request an advance review copy from the publisher
